Around 7,800 hectares (19,275 acres) of land is required for Phase-1. The total expected project value is around ₹36,230 crores, including the land acquisition cost of ₹9,500 crores. Phase-1 - The UPEIDA has divided the construction work of 594 km long Phase-1 (Meerut to Prayagraj) into 12 different packages. The Uttar Pradesh cabinet met at Prayagraj, the venue of the Kumbh Mela and cleared the decks to construct the Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj on 29th January 2019. Width of ROW (Right of Way) of the expressway is proposed as 120M, service road of 3.75 M width will be constructed at one side of the expressway in the staggered form so that residents of nearby villages of the project area may get smooth transportation facility. Width of expressway – This expressway will be of 06 lanes (expandable up to 08 lanes) and all the structures will be constructed of 08 lane width.
